A child can find delight just walking down the street. They see and experience their surroundings with wonder and interest. A cloud becomes an elephant, ants become action-figures, and something shiny on the ground...well that's just like finding treasure.
We can take some lessons from our little ones. Why not challenge yourself to experience a little extra joy by looking for intrigue in the ordinary? I took a walk around my neighborhood and challenged myself to find something I have never seen before and I found a little treasure! Looking down I found a strawberry plant growing through bricks, pretty cool and delightful, I must say. Reminded me to "grow where you are planted"!
Finding intrigue in the ordinary, gave me a little lift of happiness and excitement, giving me energy to go back to work and finish my day.
