Building Trauma-Informed Systems Across Northwest Ohio

Updated: Oct 8

We are so happy to be working with the NW Ohio Trauma-Informed Care Collaborative as they take the next step in their journey through strategic planning to expand trauma-informed practices across the region.

Together, we’re conducting a comprehensive needs assessment and bringing together key stakeholders to co-design a plan that helps more agencies and organizations become trauma-informed. Each session is filled with thoughtful dialogue, insight, and shared passion. The dedication, energy, and heart this group brings to spreading compassion and connection throughout Northwest Ohio is truly inspiring.

As a facilitator, witnessing their collaboration reminds me why trauma-informed organizational change is so powerful. It’s not just about checking a box or completing a training it’s about shifting culture, improving relationships, and building environments where both staff and clients feel safe, valued, and supported.

At Silver Linings International, we specialize in guiding organizations through this kind of deep, meaningful transformation. Whether through Trauma-Informed Strategic Planning, Trauma-Informed Supervision, or our Trauma-Informed Motivational Interviewing courses, our approach blends evidence-based frameworks with real-world application. We help teams move beyond awareness toward sustained, system-wide change.

Strategic planning in a trauma-informed context means:

  • Centering safety and trust in every phase of the process.

  • Ensuring shared voice and collaboration across all levels of an organization.

  • Using data and feedback to design strategies that reflect the strengths and needs of the community.

  • Embedding trauma-informed values safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment into policies, leadership, and everyday practices.

Facilitating this process with the NW Ohio Collaborative has been a true joy. Every discussion highlights their deep commitment to creating systems that support healing and belonging for staff, for clients, and for the community as a whole.

If your organization is ready to bring people together for a trauma-informed strategic planning process, one that inspires connection, equity, and sustainable growth; Silver Linings International can help.
