May is Maternal Mental Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the emotional well-being of mothers and caregivers. At Silver Linings International, we recognize the profound impact that maternal mental health has—not only on the well-being of women—but on families, communities, and workplaces. Our mission is rooted in creating safe, inclusive spaces where working mothers can thrive, heal, and lead with resilience.
The Silent Weight Mothers Carry
Becoming a mother often comes with a flood of expectations—some internal, many external. Yet behind the filtered photos and polite smiles, many mothers are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, and a sense of invisibility. According to recent research, 1 in 5 women experience a maternal mental health condition during pregnancy or the first year after childbirth. Sadly, many never receive the support they need, either because of stigma, lack of access, or the cultural expectation to "power through."
At Silver Linings International, we challenge this narrative. We believe maternal wellness is not a luxury—it’s essential. And support is not a favor—it’s a right.
Creating a Culture of Care and Empowerment
Our work is grounded in the belief that healing and leadership go hand in hand. We offer transformative learning experiences, coaching programs, and community spaces that center the lived experiences of working moms who often face unique systemic and emotional barriers. Whether you're navigating early motherhood, returning to the workforce, or juggling both caregiving and leadership roles, you deserve tools that support your full humanity.
We do this by:
Normalizing emotional vulnerability in professional spaces
Addressing systemic inequities that impact maternal well-being
Offering courses that blend healing-centered engagement with leadership development
What You Can Do This Month
Maternal Mental Health Month is not just a call for awareness—it’s a call to action. Here are a few ways you can engage:
Listen with compassion. If a mother in your life expresses stress or sadness, respond without judgment. Your presence matters.
Challenge stigma. Speak openly about mental health, especially in parenting spaces.
Encourage rest and support. Ask the working moms in your network what they need—and really listen.
Invest in maternal well-being. Support businesses, policies, and practices that prioritize caregiving without penalizing ambition.
And if you're a mother yourself: you are not alone, and you are not failing. You are navigating an incredibly complex journey with strength and grace—whether it feels like it or not.
We're With You
At Silver Linings International, we are committed to supporting the well-being and leadership of working moms, not just in May, but every day. Whether through our courses, coaching, or community offerings, we are here to remind you: you are worthy of healing, and you are capable of leading.
